The Perfectionist
Tropic Magazine | November 2014
DESIGNER MICHAEL WOLK believes in dovetailing beauty and function. That bond is reflected in this mirrored bath for a South Florida client. Grey stone with a low sheen is used for countertops, full-height backsplashes and makes an additional appearance in the waterfall-style treatment on a built-in vanity. Wolk designed cabinetry that opens with finger-grips instead of shiny hardware, in keeping with the room's restrained, yet elegant appearance. Wolk's perfectionist sensibilities are clear here - the grid created by individual mirrors lining up exactly with breaks in the cabinetry, single-handle faucets neatly wall-mounted, high above each under-mount sink. Its warmth, its clarity, its simplicity keep this beautiful and functional bathroom timeless.
3 Selections
Grey Stone
Grey stone is an often overlooked but very elegant solution for bath surfaces. We found St. Tropez, a honed grey limestone at Opustone, Miami & Ft. Lauderdale.
White Oak
Like the look of these custom cabinets but want a lighter feel? Have your cabinetmaker try a white stained oak. We like this matte-finished veneer 64907 Styled Oak from Treefrog.
Undermount Sink
Neat and rectangular, this undermount sink from Ronbow has a gently curved bottom and an attractive price. At Allied Kitchen & Bath.
