About the project
A recently married couple moving into a bigger apartment wanted a complete renovation of an older 3 bedroom condo. The clients wanted to be able to enjoy the ocean view and interact with their guests as they cooked and prepared meals in the Kitchen. A wall enclosing the kitchen prevented the ocean view. When the wall was opened a structural steel column was discovered, a partial wall was left with a window opening to the view. A soft contemporary, uncluttered space was the theme with ocean views always the focal point. Wood paneling on the pop-up ceiling in the foyer added height and warmth to the entry procession. Sandstone floors, wood paneling, and built-ins, cerused oak, and glass doors all kept a clean, contemporary language consistent throughout. The clean lines, highly detailed cabinetry, and extensive use of wood and custom-designed furniture are distinguishing elements.
